Challenge
This project involved a split-level home featuring both a basement and a slab-on-grade foundation. A standard sub-slab depressurization system with a single extraction point wouldn't have effectively mitigated radon across both foundation types.
Solution
To ensure comprehensive coverage, we designed a custom system to save money for this customer. Instead of two system we installed one system with multiple suction points to address both the basement slab and the slab-on-grade section of the home. The system was carefully balanced to maintain proper airflow and achieve consistent depressurization throughout the entire lower level. Post-installation testing confirmed that radon levels were successfully reduced to below EPA action levels.
